American composer Carl Stone is a mesmeric performer. Armed with little more than a laptop and the ability to sample, he’s been making “live computer music” since the mid-80s. Through sampling, looping, manipulation and distortion he creates hypnotic soundscapes that are now set for Beijing.
Continuing in a recent run of Thursday night line-ups, the good folk at Dada have joined forces with promoters Antidote and Pangbian to welcome Carl Stone this week (December 10). He’ll be joined on a sterling bill that features Vancouver-based producer and visual artist x/o, Baltimore experimentalist Sentinel, Shanghai’s Howell and local artists Charm and NoiseArcade.
We’ve got two tickets to give away to readers. To win, simply follow our WeChat account (username: That’s_Beijing) and keep an eye out for the competition which we'll be posting later today. And if you don’t win? It’s only RMB50 on the door so get yourself down there anyway.
