Heidi Bucher, the most important avant-garde artist of the 20th century and overlooked by mainstream art historical narratives, will be presented at the Red Brick Museum on August 5 as the artist's first solo exhibition in China, curated by Yan Shijie and assisted by Yan Zi, presenting more than 100 important works of Heidi Buccher's artistic career, including rediscovered and restored video materials, early paintings on paper. Abstract silk collage, wearable sculptures from the Los Angeles period, the "peeling" series on architecture and the human body at the height of creation, and late works in Lanzarote. These transformative works embody Bucher's exploration of the relationship between human psychology and space, with gender, society and politics at the heart of his work.
