When it comes to Malay food in a hutong, nowhere does it better in China than Sambal. Admittedly, that’s something of a niche category, but then so is the food. The spicy Kapitan-style chicken is pricey, but well worth it. An oxtail soup is rich and tasty, and there’s Tom Yum Gong if you prefer a little zing.
