On Thursday, April 21, Guangzhou reported eight new symptomatic COVID-19 cases and four asymptomatic cases, marking the third consecutive day where the number of infections has fallen.

Once again, all of the infections were confined to the Baiyun District.

For the second day in a row, Shenzhen has reported zero locally transmitted cases.

Today, Shenzhen added a new function to its health code which will allow bus drivers to see passengers’ health codes, and their latest nucleic acid test results, when they scan the payment code to ride the bus.

The all-in-one code will be available on more than 16,000 passengers buses.

To use the service, go to the 深圳通+ WeChat account or 深圳通+ mini program and register.

The service is reported to be the first of its kind in China and means that passengers do not need to switch between scanning their travel card or payment QR code and their health code.
