Trains taking people home for Chinese New Year are basically giant, moving garbage cans

Of the estimated 3.62 billion trips expected during the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) travel period, 258 billion will be by train. Not only are those trains uncomfortable places to sleep during the long journey to China's interior, but they're also full of garbage.

These photos – taken on Train L426 from Shenzhen to Zhengzhou, Henan province on January 22 – show the unfortunate plight of rail staff, who regularly have to clear up enough rubbish to fill ten 50cm x 50cm (20in x 20in) trash bags.
