That’s Shenzhen takes a look at the best gigs of the week.
Sat, Apr 27: Zhaoze

There’s no band quite like Zhaoze in China at the moment. Rocking out on their guqin in natural recording settings, and performing live songs that generally undulate for 10 minutes or more, this is a band that you need to catch at least once during your time in Guangdong.
Sat Apr 27, 8.30pm; RMB130 presale, RMB230 at the door. B10 Live. See event listing. Tickets.
Sun, Apr 28: Default
Bringing their latest release, Life in a Vacuum, on a China tour, Beijing-based rockers Default will take in five dates around the country this month. Following on from the success of their 2017 EP California Nebula, Default are back with another stunning, wide-ranging and reverb-filled album for the masses.
Sun Apr 28, 8.30pm; RMB80 presale, RMB100 at the door. B10. See event listing. Tickets.
Tue, Apr 30: Descendents
Born of the high-octane punk scene in Los Angeles in the ’80s, Descendents are legends of the game. They are joined here by China’s own punkers Round Eye, known for their excellent ‘Do the Drumpf,’ for an evening of fun, unabashed, uncommercial punk rock.
Tue Apr 30, 9pm; RMB280 presale, RMB330 at the door. B10. See event listing. Tickets.
