Who is Shenzhen’s number one DJ? It’s not an easy question to answer, but it’s one the Homegrown Mixtape Competition 2015 aims to answer in the coming weeks.
Shenzhen deck-masters (that think they have what it takes) are encouraged to upload a 30-minute mixtape to www.mixcloud.com or www.youku.com and submit the link to the HomeGrown official WeChat account by 10am December 15.
Participating DJs stand the chance to walk away with a grand prize of 20 red pieces of paper adorned with Mao’s face – otherwise known as RMB2000. In addition to the cash, a number of other prizes will be given away, including Skullcandy Headphones.
For DJs who don’t have a place to record their mix, Modern International Entertainment have been kind enough to offer access to their studio facility in Luohu District. For booking information contact WeChat ID: super_su85.
Voting will take place from December 15-31 via the official HomeGrown WeChat account (scroll to the bottom of this post for the QR Code). Voting will be tracked live and all rankings will be displayed and updated by the minute. Each WeChat account is permitted one vote, which is final and cannot be revoked.
The winners will be announced at midnight on December 31. Scroll down for contest rules and further prize details.
