On the morning of Thursday, May 13, Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration held an opening ceremony to announce May 13 as an ‘annual Talents Day.’ This day has been set in accordance with Xi Jinping’s recent ‘4.13’ speech and Millions of Talents Entering Hainan’s Market action plan for 2018-2025. The press conference encouraged international talent to participate in the upcoming Talent Week’s daily activities from May 13 to May 19. The celebrations will start on Wednesday, May 19 next week with a special gala.
At the conference, Yazhou Bay cordially invited all internationals of Sanya to attend to bolster the international community with tours, prestigious awards and live performances at the Talent Gala.
Nan Xiao, Director of Investment and Incubation Department at Sanya Research Institute, Hainan University, told That’s that Yazhou Bay Scientific Park’s Talent Day is a gesture to acknowledge and respect talent. Overall the aim is to help incoming talent to settle into Yazhou Bay.
“What the park is offering to talents is a big deal, especially for start-ups and new graduates. Hainan University is really happy that the park is offering so many benefits to them. With recent focus on Hainan being a strategic area, as it opens to the world and acts as a bridge connecting foreign investors and domestic markets, we definitely want to add diversity to our institute and Yazhou Bay area.”
Recognize and Honor Talent
The Talent Gala set for May 19 is intended to “reward, respect and serve” all talent in Sanya. The day will start with a transportation pickup at 1.30pm, followed by a tour of the bureau.
From 3pm to 6pm an open discussion forum will begin where international communities of every nationality, from domestic to foreign origins, are encouraged to send their concerns via delegates to represent their respective culture. There’s a desire for representatives to express their thoughts on how to build a better international future here.
A tea break will take place before the Talent Gala begins, which will include dinner, an awards ceremony and performances.
International community members have been nominated to receive awards for outstanding service to the Sanya community. These members will be awarded and recognized at the Talent Gala that night.
Performers are encouraged to apply to be included in the show as professionals and amateurs are both welcome.
Return transportation will begin to board at 9.30pm.

On November 25, 2020, Yazhou Bay held an event to introduce the benefits of their business district with the expat community. It proved to be a success for both Yazhou Bay and expats, as all were given the opportunity to network and make decisions on how they would like to be apart of a growing international area.

Yazhou Bay is quickly making its mark on Sanya, and will soon open a business incubator in Luhuitou Marina across from Times Coast. Foreign-owned businesses that register with Yazhou Bay will be able to use the office space at the incubator rent-free.
