If you’re anything like us, you generally hate airplane food, which is – in most cases – only moderately better than the gruel they serve in hospitals. If you agree with this sentiment and are yearning for a little culinary flair while in the air, then read on – because we’re going to let you in on a little secret: Scoot has an epic in-flight menu that ranges from Italian to Indian food and even ice cream!

On our most recent trip, a four-hour-and-10-minute flight to Singapore, we ordered up the makhani chicken with basmati rice and boy-oh-boy, we’re we ever impressed. Tender chunks of chicken arrived soaked in a rich creamy gravy with just the right amount of spice; the rice was fluffy and flavorful. As an added bonus, the meal came accompanied by a beverage and a Ritter Sport chocolate bar.

The woman seated next to us ordered up the nasi lamak – one of Singapore’s most iconic dishes. It boasted a fragrant smell and came the classic way: with succulent chicken pieces, otah, long beans and traditional sambal sauce served with coconut rice!

Neither of these two delicious meals sound appealing? Don’t worry there’s more: Scoot’s menu boasts beef and mushroom lasagna, teriyaki chicken with rice, submarine sandwiches, instant noodles and a whole slew of snacks and dessert items.

Vegetarians will also be spoiled for choice, with meatless curry, pasta and sandwich options available (ethical eating at altitude for the win!).

Of course, booze is also available – just in case you are looking to catch a little buzz on your next adventure. There is beer, cider, red and white wine and spirits (Jack Daniel’s and Johnnie Walker).

The next time you fly, remember that you don’t have to simply settle for ‘chicken or fish’: Scoot has a menu that will cure your curry cravings, dessert desires and so much more!
