The Scandalous Scoop is a regular feature where our editors share the latest food and drink gossip making the rounds in Guangzhou.
We’re digging:
September Handmade’s inventive salads and cakes; greeting the wee hours of the night at SoFit Club; the pasta presentation at Antidote Restaurant and Bar, nestled beside Hay Coffee;
exploring the funky new eateries out in Foshan’s Lingnan Tiandi, including Grand Trunk's juicy naan burgers that draw lines out the door at its original DC location;
Fuel, a suave new French restaurant on Party Pier; getting our injera fix and Ethiopian cuisine at Zagol in Taojin; trying the 24 different flavors of dondurma (or Turkish ice cream) and other heavenly baked goods at China's first Mado branch, located right behind Taojin Metro Exit B;
signs announcing the imminent arrival of Cova Montenapoleone (one of Milan’s oldest delicatessens and coffeehouses) beside Baiyun Hotel; and Macho Chef, a rustic eatery in Gangding serving up flatbread pizzas and pasta.
We’re done with:

Oreo’s recent attempt at mooncakes (don't let the photo fool you; find our scathing review here);
and anticipating horrendous Canton Fair crowds. We know, we say that every year, but are we honestly expected to cook at home while avoiding the traffic jams and jacked-up prices? We’d rather eat changfen at 7-11...
