July 18: International Champions Cup

AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund will land in Guangzhou this month for the International Champions Cup. It’s bound to be an adrenaline-pumping match, with two of Europe's top teams facing off for the 13th time in history.

July 19: Les Tripelettes de Belleville 


The Terrible Orchestra of Belleville, hailing from Canada, will perform nostalgic swing tunes from the French animated comedy The Triplets of Belleville. While the film is screened, the ‘terrible’ orchestra will take the audience on a jazzy journey – to the bustling streets of Belleville in the 20s.

July 19: Teeling Whiskey Tasting

Guangzhou whiskey drinkers will gather at Aroma Bistro on Wednesday evening, and, if you have a fondness for Irish whiskey, you won’t miss out on this opportunity to taste some of Teeling Whiskey’s finest booze. Presented by the ambassador of the renowned Irish whiskey brand, the tasting will offer both cocktails and straight whiskey.

July 21: Mousefx EP Launch Party

Hailing from Hong Kong, Mousefx has been singing reggae music for almost two decades and has shared the stage with many a notable artists. Most recently, Mousefx collaborated on a tune called 'Baby Fan Ying' with UK producer J-Star. Come to Loft345 this Friday to party with the reggae enthusiast himself, at what is sure to be a memorable performance.

July 21: Adaen China Tour 


Progressive post-metal band Adaen, hailing from Moscow, was formed in 2009 and have four albums to their name. A marvelous blend of rocking riffs, accomplished song writing and experimental sounds, Adaen is set to wow Guangzhou audiences this Friday at SD Livehouse.

July 21: John Carroll

Irish independent musician and lyricist John Carroll settled down in Hangzhou in 2007 after touring his first album. A year later, Carroll founded indie rock band The Phoenix Prestige. He’s been an advocate of creating original music through his collaborations with various Chinese musicians, and is a popular act at music festivals, pubs and hutongs in Beijing, as well as on Chinese TV and radio.

July 21-23: Miravella by Compagnie ACT2 


With Miravella, French dancer Catherine Dreyfus takes us into a primitive world where the movements and forms lead us back to our origins to explore the animal within. Designed for the imaginative minds of children, the dancer guides the audience on a journey into a surreal world.

Comprising top Stateside brass musicians, the group has appeared on the world’s most prominent stages and inspired many a young musicians.

July 23: While She Sleeps

It wasn’t until four years after their formation that English rockers While She Sleeps released their first record. Hailing from Sheffield, England, they were influenced by alternative rock bands like the Foo Fighters and Gallows. Screaming vocals, down-tuned guitars and fast-paced drumming characterize their sound, which is occasionally complemented by melodic guitar and piano.
