April 11: Idea Exchange
This Tuesday, Idea Exchange introduces you to something rare in Guangzhou – amateur drama. Victoria Xu, a member of one of Guangzhou's few theater groups, will talk about the various opportunities available in the city, as she shows attendees some drama games to try for themselves. After that, a short talk about watersports and environmental conservation on the Pearl River and Guangzhou’s other waterways will be delivered.

April 13: Majik
These two talented 20-somethings mix music in a way that can only be described as magical. Comprised of Jamie – the ‘scientist’ on guitar – and Marcus – a sensitive, soul-searching wordsmith turned vocalist – this British funk duo puts on a quirky but undeniably awesome show. April 13: Burgundy Night at Morton’s Grille

April 15: Guangzhou Dragons Pearl River Open Day
Do you want to know what it feels like to paddle a dragon boat atop the waters of the Pearl River? Then come this Saturday to the Guangzhou Dragon's ‘open day,’ where you can try your hand at dragon boating, kayaking and paddle boarding. What’s more, participate in an array of fitness exercises and games to win prizes. This event is supported by Urban Family, K2Fit and Somewhere Else, among other sponsors.

April 16: Generation Axe
Generation Axe is a guitar celebration featuring five of the world’s most characteristic, if not best, guitarists, namely Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt and Tosin Abasi. After a successful US tour, Generation Axe is embarking on their Asian tour, arriving at Guangzhou Gymnasium on April 16. April 16: K2Fit Climb for Cancer
In an effort to support underprivileged children with cancer, K2Fit is holding a stair-climbing charity event, with all proceeds going to the Wilber Foundation. Until April 23: Like Singing and Dancing – John McLean’s Abstract Painting Exhibition
British painter John McLean’s work is influenced by abstract expressionism – he decorates the canvas with fluid paints to make an abstract and rhythmic composition. McLean’s artworks are also influenced by French artist Henri Matisse and Spanish painter Joan Miró, from whom he discovered “a much more sophisticated way of using shape.”

Enjoy a new seasonal menu from Executive Western Chef Robert Conaway at The Connoisseur in LN Garden Hotel Guangzhou. A California native, Chef Conaway has designed a delectable set menu that includes imported steak topped with minced garlic and greens over an artistic spread of mashed potatoes and edible flowers vibrant enough to awaken the senses.
