The first hangover of 2015

Ouch. That was a big one. Why do I have glow sticks in between my toes and glitter up my nose? I look like Ziggy Stardust with the flu.

You may be asking yourself these questions the day after NYE in Beijing. Our suggestion is to clean yourself up, take off your rollerskates and take a look at our guide on what to do to get your hangover busted in Beijing.

FOOD

Cure your vitamin and bacon deficiencies at a hotel brunch. Sofitel Wanda's VIC restaurant is holding a hangover brunch for RMB420 per person, RMB520 with a half bottle of Champagne each, and RMB620 for a bottle of Champagne each.

Belgian restaurant Beer Mania still have their Christmas and New Year's specials going on with plenty of discounted beers for that hair-of-the-dog strategy.

And of course, there's always the old favorite: Baozi and jiaozi. Not necessarily a cure, but damn tasty. Find on any street anywhere (almost).

JUICE

Force out the toxins with juices. Head to Juice by Melissa in Dongzhimen where they can squeeze all the healthy goodness into one small bottle of magic elixir that might just help you out, maybe.

TEA

As we all know, water is the best thing to keep handy when you wake up and feel like the Sahara has been shoveled into your mouth. And as the old Chinese proverb goes, "Water is the mother of tea" (google it). So why not have a nice cup of tea at one of Beijing's many cafes like The Bookworm or Cafe Alba

COLD

If you've got the balls, you can take a leaf out of the old-guys-at-houhai's book and jump into a freezing lake. Though most of the venerable swimmers prefer speedos, they are not a compulsory dress code.

RUB

Collapse onto a massage table and let a Beijing masseuse get rid of your dirty hangover with his/her sorcery. There are too many places to list here but, depending on your budget, you can get a quick neck rub in the hutongs or a luxurious spa treatment at one of the top hotels.

SUCK IT UP

Just go out again! It's Thursday night, which was the new Friday, previously the new Saturday and then the new Wednesday for a while, now Thursday again. But since it's a public holiday for the next few days, none of that matters. Clubs will be taking advantage, such as Modo Ultra Club in Chaoyangmen Wai, that will be fielding a host of Korean and Taiwanese DJs. By the time the hangover finishes from that, it'll be Friday night. Time to do it all again.
