Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center Appoints New Managing Director

In a significant move for the luxury hospitality sector, Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center has announced the appointment of Christian Wiendieck as its new Managing Director. Taking the reins of the sprawling complex, Wiendieck will oversee the operations of a 480-room hotel, six restaurants, 170 apartments, 138 office units, and 29 showrooms.

Bringing over three decades of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Wiendieck boasts a global career that spans Germany, Austria, Scotland, the US, the UAE, Switzerland, and more. His journey with Kempinski Hotels began in 1997, culminating in his first General Manager appointment in 2007 at the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia. Relocating to China in 2010, Wiendieck successfully managed various Kempinski properties, including Kempinski Hotel Dalian, Kempinski Hotel Wuxi, Kempinski Hotel Guiyang, and Kempinski Hotel Fuzhou. Before assuming his role at Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center, he served as the General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Jinan, overseeing the successful grand opening of the newest Kempinski hotel in China.

Matthias Al-Amiry, Vice President Operations, Greater China and Mongolia of the Kempinski Hotels, highlighted the significance of Kempinski Hotel Beijing Yansha Center, calling it one of the brand's key properties in China and a representation of timeless European luxury in Beijing. Expressing confidence in Wiendieck's capabilities, Al-Amiry stated, "With Wiendieck’s rich management experience and deep understanding of the Kempinski culture and the China market, we believe he will lead this landmark hotel, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, to continue its beautiful performance and become one of the premier luxury hotels in the capital city."

Wiendieck, a German native, holds a degree from the Heidelberg School of Hotel Management and an MBA from the Reims Management School in France. Fluent in both German and English, he is also working on acquiring proficiency in Chinese, showcasing his commitment to embracing the local culture and market dynamics.
