Schools and kindergartens in Beijing will no longer carry out mass testing for COVID-19 among staff and students.
The announcement was made today, January 6 at the 433rd Press Conference on COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control by the Beijing Information Office.
Staff and students will no longer be required to show a negative test result to enter school or kindergarten premises.
The same is true for anyone else entering said premises. However, visitors to kindergartens and schools may be required to show proof of a negative test result, should the situation regarding COVID-19 become more serious.
The news comes as China continues to dismantle 'dynamic zero-COVID.' Until the latest announcement, schools and kindergartens were among only a few places which still required a negative COVID test result upon entry.
