Find Out When Beijing Students Return to Class

As the Spring Festival holiday winds down, students across Beijing now know when they’ll be back in the classroom. 

Primary-, middle- and high-school students at regular schools, including those attending vocational schools, will all return on March 1. 

Universities in Beijing have set various dates for the beginning of class and the dates on which students should return to campus. They are as follows: 

Beijing Technology and Business University; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

Beijing Normal University; Classes start February 22; Students to return to campus – March 16 

Beijing Jiaotong University; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

University of Science and Technology Beijing; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

Beijing University of Chemical Technology; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – February 27 – March 21

Beijing University of Technology; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – February 21 – March 20

Beijing Forestry University; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 19 – March 21 (staggered return for those from low-risk areas)

China University of Mining and Technology – Beijing; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 20 – March 27

Beijing Language and Culture University; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 19 – March 21 (Chinese students only)

China University of Political Science and Law; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

Beijing Institute of Technology; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – February 28 – March 21 

Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

Beijing Sport University; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 20 – March 21

North China University of Technology; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 21

Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication; Classes start March 1; Students to return to campus – March 16 – March 19

Beijing Dance Academy; Classes start March 3 & March 8; Students to return to campus – March 13 – March 14 

The announcements come as Beijing sees its 20th consecutive day without a new COVID-19 infection. The city currently has no medium- or high-risk areas. 

Many will hope that spring semester 2021 will see the start of normality for students.
