Here, a roundup of things we ate and gossiped about this month – for journalism, for research, for you, readers.

With the unexpectedly long CNY holiday having wrapped up, it’s time to face reality and get back to work. The reality being that your apartment is now your office and getting back to work means staying in your pajamas and scheduling lots of conference calls. For those of you tired of cooking at home and feeling restless during the self-quarantine, some good food news is in order.

Breakfast is made easy with The Daily Bagel still delivering (available on Meituan, Ele.me and JSS), along with The Bake Shop (WeChat: thebakeshopbeijing). Hulu just debuted their own delivery service, with all of their tasty signature offerings from appetizers like duck spring rolls and creamy mushroom risotto to classic mains like mini beef sliders available for pre-order. The Sanlitun restaurant is offering their Power Lunch set menu as well. Place your order via their delivery WeChat: ilovehuluforever.

That said, if you are itching to get out of your apartment for an hour or two by dinner time, plenty of restaurants and bars are still operating (stay tuned for our full list) and taking strict measures to keep staff and customers safe. El Nido at The Other Place is putting on a buy-one-get-one deal on their Xiaoyuan IPA and tacos from Taco Stop from 6-9pm through February 10. Keep calm with craft brews and pub grub at Jing-A’s Xingfucun brewpub while their taproom in Longfusi remains closed. Both of Slow Boat’s locations are still open and grilling up burgers. More good news: The brewery has also recently revealed a sneak peek of their upcoming new location in Maizidian

Over in the CBD, Migas Mercado is open and serving up Spanish tapas and paella daily (what’s more, all your favorites are available for delivery on JSS), but their nightlife events are off for the moment. The area also has a new player in town: Tampa-born bar and restaurant World of Beer. Though, it's more than just beer here, as the menu offers creative Western fare like the Burger Wellington, an angus beef patty wrapped in a puff pastry shell with caramelized onions and gooey Swiss cheese – an updated take on the classic English beef dish. The new space is closed for now, but will be up and running on February 10.
