Beijing Prohibits Buses from Honking During Gaokao

It’s that time of the year again. The gaokao, China's National College Entrance Examination, is scheduled to be taken this Thursday and Friday over a span of nine hours in total. About 9.75 million students have registered for the high-stakes exam, which will most likely determine the direction of the attendants' lives.

As reported by Xinhua News, the Beijing Bus Group has announced that they will be taking respectful measures to ensure a bit of smooth sailing for the test takers.

To prevent any disturbance during the exam, the city's bus drivers have been advised not to honk on 381 routes near the city’s 91 gaokao exam venues. Along these same routes, Beijing has added more buses with the intent to provide reliable transportation more frequently for the students.
