Beijing’s massive new airport was unveiled on Monday. Although the airport is not set to open until October 2019, the structure is already impressive.

Beijing Daxing International Airport or Beijing New Airport, as it has come to be called, is set to be one of the largest airports in the world. It will even house it's own bullet train station. The core structure is made up of 1.6 million cubic meters of concrete and 52,000 tons of steel, Reuters reports.

The new airport will be located 67 km south of Beijing and will stretch across a 47-square-kilometer area.

The project is estimated to cost RMB80 billion (USD12.9 billion).

Once the airport opens, it expected to serve 45 million passengers a year. However, it is designed to handle 100 million.
