A 29-year-old woman has reportedly survived after falling from a bridge over Beijing's Second Ring Road.

The incident took place at around 7.45am this morning. Terrifying dashcam footage circulating online today came from one of the cars on the road at the time of the fall. The dashcam captured the moment she fell from Dongzhimen Bridge.

According to reports, the woman hit a car's windshield on her way down. The driver of the Mercedes that she hit immediately stepped on the brakes and jumped out of the vehicle. The driver was not injured, according to reports.

The woman who fell was immediately taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, traffic was stopped for a few hours while police sorted out the situation.

Beijing News says that the woman, surnamed Qin, miraculously survived, sustaining multiple fractures around her ankles and waist. In an interview from her hospital bed, she confirmed she jumped from the bridge. But she didn't reveal why she jumped, only telling the Beijing News reporter that she "[doesn't] want to live anymore."

Qin, who lives at home with her parents, said she left her house at around 6am and had intended to hail a car to Henan province to participate in a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) workshop. She doesn't remember hitting the car, and was unable to move from her bed.

Qin's mother told the Beijing News that the family wasn't exactly sure when she left the apartment this morning. She said her daughter worked in customer service and was under a lot of pressure recently, and that she didn't communicate much with the family.

The case remains under investigation.
