A suspect involved in the brutal attack of a woman at a Beijing hotel earlier this year was found guilty for pandering on Friday. Li, 25, was arrested in connection with the case in Henan Province in April.

The attack occurred at Heyi Hotel in Chaoyang on April 3, and received attention from people around the world after the victim posted a three-minute video of the assault on Weibo.

The video shows Li attacking a woman inside of the hotel. According to the victim – who goes by the username of Wanwan_2016 on Weibo – Li approached her as she was trying to get into her hotel room. The video shows Li brutally assaulting her and, at one point, dragging her down the hallway by the hair.

After his arrest, Li reportedly told police that he works for a prostitution company. When he spotted the victim at the hotel the night of the incident, he thought she was a prostitute who was working for another company. Li then proceeded to attack the woman while numerous passersby simply stood by and watched.

An official sentence has not yet been announced. However, it is believed that a sentence of one to three years will be given to Li, People's Daily reports.

After the guilty verdict was announced, the victim posted a message on Weibo saying that she has managed to recover from the traumatic event.

"I hope this incident will bring people positive effect and warmth and make people offer help to those who are in dangerous situations," she said.
