Popular organic restaurant Tribe has announced that it will double its number of China outlets next year, with three branches set to open by the summer.

In addition to new Beijing locations in Solana and Wangfujing (due to launch in January 2017 and June 2017 respectively) the brand announced that it is expanding beyond the capital for the first time. At 395sqm, the Shanghai site on Fuming Lu will be become Tribe’s largest restaurant when it opens in March.

In an announcement-packed press conference, Tribe also outlined plans for a protein bar and revealed a sponsorship agreement with the China Open. The brand will be the ‘Official Healthy Food Supplier’ for the tennis tournament which starts in two weeks’ time.

News of Tribe’s expansion comes just months after the launching of its third Beijing location, in Lido. Since first opening by the Workers Stadium in fall 2014, the restaurant-cafe has set up an outlet at B Active gym and introduced a meal-delivery service, Tribe Nutrition (click here to read about our experience using the meal plans).

But in a new move for the brand, both of its new Beijing restaurants will be found in shopping malls – one in the family-friendly Solana mall and a second, smaller outlet in Wangfujing's yet-to-open WF Central development.
