June 9: Organic
Every great club night begins with a single step. So although the newest party to arrive at Dada, Organic, is little more than a dream right now, if it blows up you can be like: “Oh, yeah, I was there when that Organic started. That was dope.” Landing just in time for the Dragon Boat Festival (which makes Thursday a perfectly acceptable drinking night), Organic promises to explore “the deepness, soulfulness and exquisiteness rooted within house and techno music.” It also offers plant life, meaning that they’re gonna fill Dada out with loads of actual greenery. Playing in this metaphorical urban jungle will be a trio of Beijing-based DJs: Marc Alexr, Signal and That’s Beijing’s very own smooth house aficionado, Juhstynn. All hail from the UK so expect some of London’s deepest electronic music.
Sat June 9, 9pm-late. Free entry. Dada, see event listing for details.
June 9: Kamixlo
Kamixlo is kind a big deal in the DJ world right now. Many, and we mean many, are asserting that he’s currently the best DJ in London. Lucky for us Kamixlo is bringing all that talent and all those anarchic dance jams to China. And he’ll be performing at Modernsky Lab on Thursday. Bloodz Boi, Pussy Stack and Dokedo will be supporting.
Thurs, June 9, RMB60; Modernsky Lab (Party Room), see event listing for details.
June 10: Syndicate Sessions
That’s right, it’s residents’ night. After holding down the fort on their Bass Stage at the Intro Festival, Clir, Kay C, Donkey Tonk, Elemental, and Amber Akilla are bringing the party to Dada on Friday night.
Fri, June 10, RMB30; Dada, see event listing for details.
June 10: Disco Extravaganza
Migas has teamed up with Queer Comrade for their new event series, Disco Extravaganza. Check out the Migas rooftop on Friday for a night of drag and disco. There will be tons of music – thanks to Crystal Bones, Nassdak and Juhstynn (our personal favorite…and no we’re not biased). There will also be a drag performance and lip sync battle. So get ready to dance the night away.
Fri Jun 10, 10pm-late. RMB60; Migas, see event listing for details.
June 11: DJ Krush
One of the most important names in Japanese hip-hop, DJ Krush has released eight solo albums since exploding onto the scene with his eponymous 1994 debut. A prolific performer who has played in 350 cities in over 50 countries, Krush makes a welcome return to China with a five city tour that stops offs in Beijing on Saturday at Yugong Yishan.
Sat Jun 11, 9-11pm; RMB200 (door) / RMB150 (presale) / RMB100 (early bird). Yugong Yishan, see event listing for details.
