Apr 21: Dangerous New Sounds Vol. 1

A new series called Dangerous New Sounds will debut tomorrow at Temple Bar. The idea is to shine a spotlight on all of the up and coming musical talent in Beijing. The lineup will include the indie-rocker group Tag, the guitar and drums rocking duo Comp Collider, and the post emo rock group Out to Sea.

Apr 22: The Second Anniversary of Mentha Project

For the past two years, Mentha Project has worked feverishly to introduce Chinese musicians to an international audience by bringing them on European tours. In celebration of their work, DDC is hosting an anniversary party for Mentha Project this Friday. Birdstriking, Mr. Graceless and other Mentha Project affiliates will be playing.

Apr 23: LITE

Prog-rock promoter New Noise is bringing in Japanese math rock giants LITE for a five-city China tour. Known for their emotional compositions that mix edgy riffs with complex rhythms, the band have worked with Tortoise’s John McEntire and headlined their country’s massive Fuji Rock Festival. Something of a misnomer, LITE have a heavy, cinematic sound. Time to get the earplugs out again.

Apr 24: Maximillion Hecker

German musician Maximillion Hecker is best known for his dream-pop style. He’s often compared to the likes of Radiohead and Nick Drake. As part of his tour around China, Hecker is bound for Beijing where he'll play with a full band at Century Theatre.

Apr 24: Iron Maiden

Heavy metal legends Iron Maiden will be making their Chinese mainland debut with a show in Beijing at LeSports Center (formerly Wukesong Arena, Mastercard Arena) on Sunday, April 24. They are landing in China for the first time ever as part of their Book of Souls world tour.
