Wed, March 30: Sum 41 at Beijing Exhibition Center

If you grew up during the 90s, you might remember Sum 41. Well, the iconic punk rock band is celebrating its 20th year as a group right here in Beijing. So relive those good ol’ high school days at their anniversary show this week at the Beijing Exhibition Center.

Fri, April 1: Converse Rubber Tracks Live at School Bar

Spend this April fool’s day enjoying some free live music at School Bar. Converse Rubber Tracks is back in Beijing and this time they’re featuring four underground local artists. Steely Heart will perform their new drinking anthem. The indie-rock foursome Candy Monster, the Strokes-inspired Bye Bye Noise and the electro-rock duo Pacalolo will all make an appearance too. It’s a good excuse to check out the School Bar’s newly extended bar. Plus, the event is free – always a plus.

Fri, April 1: Coldneo Party at Mao Livehouse

Just when you think Mao Livehouse is gone for good somehow they keep coming back. This Friday they are hosting the second “birthday” party for record label Coldneo. Indie bands The Lone and Hedgehog will make an appearance, among others.

Sat, April 2: Chui Wan and Alpine Decline at Yugong Yishan

After a six month hiatus, Chui Wan teams up with Alpine Decline to play a bunch of their new music before they leave for their latest European tour. Expect to hear some new neo-psychedelic songs from the Beijing foursome at Yugong Yishan on Saturday night. Alpine Decline will also be playing fresh music from their upcoming album, which will be released later this year.

Sat, April 2: Spring Re-Lapse Festival Day 1 at DDC

As part of the Spring Re-Lapse Festival, Live Beijing Music is hosting two crazy music-filled nights. The first night will feature the electro rock group Cassette. Other bands included in the lineup are Sound Remains, Streets Kill Strange Animals, Social Boar and Boiled Hippo. With everything from post-punk to rock the Re-Lapse Festival has got music lovers covered.
