"Observing Li Zhan's sculptures, attempting to guess the identity of the subject and decipher the character's psyche, is a futile exercise. Literature and plot-driven narratives do not apply to Li Zhan's work, as he intentionally avoids such interpretations, believing that excessive plotlines would weaken the essence of the sculpture." The animal figures featured in this exhibition are both representational and abstract.
