Imagine you enter a time machine and are transported to a city where there are only 2 subway lines, everyone is riding bicycles, no wifi, no wechat. There are little groups of youngsters secretly gathering in homes across the city, covering lamps with pieces of red cloth and enjoying the sounds of Zhang Qiang and Donna Summer while wearing Rayban sunglasses, bellbottom jumpsuits and headbands as they rotate their hips and wave their bodies freely to the beats of a boombox. They are inspired by the sights and sounds from Hong Kong, Taiwan and New York... big hair, flashy lights, slick clothes, rhytminc dance routines. They are experiencing a new world that had not been seen before in China.
On June 17, TGIS invite you to enter at RAMO and be inspired by this unique period of time.
we will lead you up to the definitive disco party night featuring DJs bringing back the old Beijing disco beats and remixes of 70-90s disco songs, boogie-wogg group dances, games, how low can you limbo?
