Join us for a magical workshop on 30 November, as we weave red ribbons for World AIDS Day 2016, and contribute to changing the lives of women and children at risk in South-West China. Make your own Red Ribbon, while you also make a difference!
Workshop costs 395 RMB, and EVERY single penny raised will be donated directly to the China Red Ribbon Foundation, to work on their established ‘Blessing Bag’ programme in Liangshan. This programme provides supplies for underprivileged pregnant mothers in minority groups, encouraging healthy birthing practices and hygienic childcare - all intended to reduce the risk of disease. This programme has so far reached well over 3,000 people - and continues to contribute significantly to reducing the spread of HIV and AIDS in rural China.
During this community workshop, each participant will be guided and supported to hand-craft at least two red-ribbon pins, especially designed by our collaboration partner Rebecca, of Bekkas Dzines, for this workshop. At the end of the workshop, participants may keep the pin they like the most, and the others will be sold the following day - World AIDS Day 2016 - to raise additional funds for charity! Our goal is to make at least 100 additional red ribbon pins, that can then be on-sold to raise extra funds for this amazing charity.
As a company, POP-UP BEIJING is committed to ‘giving back’ to the communities in which we live and operate. We have worked closely with our wonderful jewellery instructor, Rebecca, to create this charity workshop. We also thank Mr.Takashi Katsuoka from MIYUKI Bead Company and a good friend Ms. Nakano, for help in supplying workshop materials.
