"Shanghai Restaurant Review: Karaiya Spice House"

Karaiya spice house is a total surprise to me. I didn’t expect a Hunan cuisine could be so good in a mall. The environment is quiet, clean, with gentle lighting, but not to formal so you can enjoy your meal with friends a loved ones. The chicken steamed in the rice wine was a good idea, but it is a bit light compare to other dishes. We also had salad with sesame sauce, it is a bit sweeter than expected. It would be a great choice to have it after the main dish as it calms your taste buds from all the spiciness. And the main dish flounder is very memorable. What else can you describe a fresh flounder topping with nicely done two chili sauce? It is simply awesome. I’d give this hunan cuisine experience a 4.5 stars out of 5. Highly recommended.
