The 2017 World's 50 Best Bars list is out, and three bars from Greater China have made the cut.
Speak Low, the brainchild of mixologist Shingo Gokan (pictured below), clinched the #10 spot on the list, making it the top bar in China. It moved up five spots from its #15 ranking last year. It's the first time a bar from the Mainland has ever placed in the top ten on the list.
Gokan, who has made a name for himself in New York at the speakeasy Angel's Share, is also the proprietor of Sober Company, which was ranked #19 on the Asia bar list this summer.

Gokan's become well known for multi-concept venues offering something different on each floor, which Shanghai cocktail enthusiasts have come to know and love at both Speak Low and Sober Company (pictured below) that combine dining and drinking experiences throughout the venue.
Two Hong Kong bars earned spots on the list, with Quinary and Lobster Bar ranking #40 and #49 respectively.
One Taiwanese bar also made the list, with Indulge Experimental Bistro landing at #28.
Yao Lu's Union Trading Company, meanwhile, appeared at #97 on a separate 51-100 list, marking its rankings debut. Two other Hong Kong Bars also earned recognition on that list, with The Pontiac and Stockton landing in at #68 and #69.
No other Mainland bars were on the list, but perhaps Beijing's Janes & Hooch will make a showing next year after earning a spot on the Asia's 50 Best list in June.
