Founded in 1883, The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University is among the first “Class-A third-grade” (municipal level) hospitals of the Ministry of Health and the provincial key hospital directly under the Jiangsu Provincial Health Planning Commission and the medical guidance center of southern Jiangsu Province. In the list of the best hospitals in China published by the Institute of Hospital Management of Fudan University, it is among the top 50 hospitals, and in five consecutive years, it is ranked first in the list of the top 100 cities in China's prefecture level city hospitals.
