At around 9pm on the night of December 20, a female passenger approached the customer service desk at Guomao station on the Shenzhen Metro, asking for a child's ticket. The woman working at the desk misheard her and thought she just wanted a regular ticket, so directed her to the machines.

When the passener found she couldn't buy children's tickets at the machines, she returned to the customer service counter in a foul mood and started arguing with the ticket seller. The more they argued, the more aggrevated she became, and soon she was joined by her younger sister who began hurling object at the woman as she continued trying to do her job.

As the elder sibling continued arguing with Metro employees, her sister then went around the back and charged into the customer service cubicle, pulling the Metro employee down to the ground by her hair and then attacking with a metal chair, kicking her, and throwing a throw bucket of water at her head before being pulled back by security.

Shenzhen Metro has confirmed the incident and said that the Metro employee attacked was compensated RMB5,000 by her assailant.
