Prison Religion is the collaborative project of Richmond-based audio and visual artists Poozy and False Prpht. Working together since 2016, the duo have dived deep into the space between blown-out trap (2016’s Cage With Mirrored Bars) and contemporary destructive club music (2018’s O Fucc Im On The Wrong Planet). Catch them this Thursday at Oil for what’s always a good time.

This Friday, Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Lena Willikens hits the decks at Oil in what’s been dubbed Lady’s Tech Series: One with Lena Willikens. If you ask her fans, they’ll tell you that they have no idea what she’s playing, but it’s part of her musical allure. She plays any and seemingly everything, from bizarre slices of synth exploration to some ominously churning proto-industrial stomp, or another mix of sounds that have no business being classified to a genre. It’s a real treat, so you won’t want to miss it.
