Mon, Sept 23: Klaus Paier & Asja Valcic
Accordionist Klaus Paier and cellist Asja Valcic have been making music as a duo for 10 years. Their playing has kept audiences delighted and critics enthralled. Their journey together began in 2009 with their debut album A Deux, and since then Paier and Valcic have proceeded to make their unique accordion and cello pairing into a thing of wonder.

Wed, Sept 25: Book Exchange Library

Come check out all the new donations the Book Exchange has received! This is Shenzhen’s biggest expat library, with around 800 English and 200 Chinese hardcovers and paperbacks, among other foreign language books. Run by volunteers and hosted at a community center, it is free and open to the public. Drop by anytime during the event, make a quick book run or hang out for hours; it’s up to you! There is no cover charge or need to bring a book – although donations are always welcome.

Sat Sept 28: Mixing With Essential Oils

Learn about the power of essential oils at this fun workshop with essential oil enthusiast Hilary Wilcox. She will give an essential oil 101 workshop where one can learn about the benefits and fun ways of how we can use oils in our everyday lives. After reaching wizard status on essential oils, participants will split into teams and have a small cocktail mixing competition using these beneficial oils!

Sun Sept 29: Poolin’ Around Rooftop Party

Hard Rock Hotel’s rooftop pool party is back and it’ll be the last of the season! This time, free shuttle buses from Coco Park and Sea World will be included in the ticket along with two welcome drinks, a food combo and chance to win a lucky draw. In true Hard Rock fashion, there will be live music, a fashion bazaar, pool games and more. Until Sept 30: A Taste of Sichuan

One of the eight major cuisines of China, Sichuan cuisine holds a reputation for its variety of seasonings used. As the saying goes, ‘one dish with one flavor, with one hundred dishes come hundred flavors.’ Until September 30, Sheraton Shenzhen Nanshan invites Mr. Fan Lin, a well-known chef of Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel, as the guest chef of a Sichuan-themed buffet feast at Xili Kitchen. With specially selected ingredients and intricate cooking techniques, Chef Fan presents more than 20 classic dishes to guests. Come experience the charm and bold flavors of Sichuan cuisine.

Until Oct 16: Wallpaper Independent Designer Pop-Up Store

Eight famous independent designer collections are on display and available for purchase at this pop-up store by Wallpaper! Designers include: Angel Chen (first Chinese independent designer to collaborate with H&M), Chen Cihang, Ming Ma, Gaochun, Vega, Xu Zhi, Yirantian and Percy Lau. The store spans two stories and also features art exhibitions, artisan coffee and other exhibits.
