Reimagine Urban Air Travel at This Shenzhen Event

Allianz is in tune with this way of thinking, which is why the German-based Fortune 500 Company is calling on the bright and creative minds of entrepreneurs, startup professionals, senior corporate executives and investors, among other interested individuals, to share their ideas on what the future of urban air mobility will look like. Allianz will host their world-famous Global Explorer Program in Shenzhen on Thursday, March 21.

Allianz’s Shenzhen event will focus on the topic: The Future of Urban Air Mobility. A challenge has been set to reimagine how we travel around our cities, and what opportunities are there to integrate VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) vehicles and passenger drones into our daily lives.

“What if the sky was our new playground?”

The Global Explorer Program is made up of a series of engaging events, both in China and abroad, to empower the world’s brightest thinkers to shape our future. The first step in a new direction begins in Shenzhen with the Urban Air Mobility explorer series, which extends a global invitation to innovators to share their ideas and stories on how they believe urban air mobility can be better integrated into our lives.

For the challenge, participants will be asked to create a video story (55 seconds or less) answering these three questions:

1. What are the challenges you see in bringing urban air mobility to life?
2. What is your unique solution?  
3. How will your idea make urban air mobility possible?

The participant with the best story will win EUR3,000 and receive free promotion on social media while runners-up will have the chance to take home EUR500. Participants are encouraged to share their creative and exciting ideas before the March 18 deadline.

On March 21, forward thinkers of all walks of life are invited to attend the Allianz Explorer Series event at Kong Lab in Nanshan District for an evening of lively talks and discussions on the future of air mobility in urban settings. The event kicks off at 6.30pm with snacks and drinks provided, a live DJ on site, as well as Mandarin translation throughout the evening.

The event will host six speakers, including Jean-Marc Pailhol, the head of group market management and distribution at Allianz SE; Hunter Zhang, vice president of EHang; Charles Kim, a successful pilot, serial entrepreneur and author, as well as three local entrepreneurs with bold ideas on how to advance the infrastructure and services of urban air mobility.

Allianz Global Explorer Program’s Shenzhen event is the latest in an impressive series, which has brought in successful entrepreneurs and business professionals in global cities like Hong Kong, New York, Barcelona, Mexico City and Paris. Topics previously discussed have ranged from the future of health to urban traffic and so much more.
