Chinese Company Unveils 5G-Capable Unmanned Boat

Zhuhai-based company Yunzhou Technology recently unveiled what could very possibly be the world’s coolest remote-control boat at the Mobile World Congress 2019, which is currently taking place in Barcelona.

The unmanned surface vessel (USV) is powered by 5G telecommunication tech, according to China Daily, and was a joint project undertaken by Swedish company Ericsson and China Mobile.

The machine is able to monitor aquatic environments and is equipped with a device that can collect and test water samples, as well as flashy high-def cameras. Utilizing 5G technology, the vessel is able to quickly send real-time video footage and information relating to water quality.
