An international line-up for this one, as Noob invites Polish DJ Berlin Bunny, who messes around with a glut of genres, such as techno, industrial dance and EBM. Joining her on the evening is DJOmori from Japan, Emi CX from Shenzhen (and also co-owner at Vinylhouse) as well as Russian DJ NuWhite.

Fri Jan 18, 9pm; RMB50 at the door. Noob. See event listing

Fri, Jan 18: H2O @ LAVO Jazz·Funk·Soul

H2O are a locally formed jazz band who have played a number of well-received gigs around the city, including one stop at Shenzhen Fringe Festival. Led by saxophonist, Lin Xi, the Oklahoma State University graduate will play six of his own original songs, while other members of the band have carefully curated a setlist to show the development of modern jazz.

Fri Jan 18, 10pm; free entry. LAVO Jazz·Funk·Soul. See event listing.

Sat, Jan 19: Space Station @ Hou Live

We’ve heard a lot about Black Deer Records in the past year, with rising acts like Nouvelle and Echo Park taking much of the plaudits. Here we see one of the most prominent acts from the Guangzhou-based independent label take to the stage at Hou Live. Space Station are an experimental instrumental act bound to knock your socks right off your feet and, perhaps, send you into orbit.

Sat Jan 19, 8.30pm; RMB60 presale, RMB80 at the door. Hou Live. See event listing. Tickets.

Sat, Jan 19: Nick Warren @ Oil

A legend of UK electronic, Nick Warren made a name for himself DJing for Massive Attack, for being one half of duo Way Out West and for taking part in a number of the legendary Global Underground series of releases. A legend of the game, Warren’s appearance in Oil is another coup by the brilliant promoters.

Sat Jan 19, 10pm; RMB100 presale, RMB150 at the door. Oil. See event listing. Tickets.
