China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) is hailed as the 'No.1 Technology Show in China.' Visitors at the fair can enjoy everything from product exhibits to high-level forums. Known as China’s first-ever reggae band, anytime Kawa comes to town is a celebration. This time, the group will channel a little bit more of their Southwestern folk music, alongside reggae of course, as they take in 16 dates on their way back to Yunnan.

Fri, Nov 16: Drumcell

One of the most popular techno artists in North America, Drumcell, is coming to Oil this Friday. Drumcell moved in noise, punk and industrial music circles before falling in love with techno. Growing up in a diverse neighborhood and having made contact with a wide range of music genres, his works are anything but conventional.

Hailed as one of the greatest orchestras in the world, Berliner Philharmoniker, which was founded in 1882, comes to Shenzhen this week. With the highly talented Venezuelan Gustavo Dudamel conducting, the orchestra will perform famous symphonies such as Berstein’s ‘Diverdimento’ and ‘Symphony No. 5’ by Mahler.

Sat-Sun, Nov 17-18: 2018 D1 Grand Prix Series in China: Shenzhen Drift

After the first two rounds were held in Beijing and Hangzhou, the Grand Car Drifting Series will arrive in Shenzhen this weekend for the final hurrah. With more than 50 drifters from around the world competing for this year’s championship, it is sure to be an adrenaline-pumping experience.

This weekend, Shenzhen plays host to TechCrunch Shenzhen 2018. The four-day event will feature a startup competition and venture-capitalist meetups, along with the Startup Alley where hundreds of startups in areas such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, augmented reality/virtual reality and more, will demonstrate their products and services. A must see for tech-enthusiasts.

Until Dec 12, Nie Li’s Art Exhibition: Plan ‘Free’

Nie Lie’s art focuses on natural elements such as wildlands, fire and animals. Instead of showing the pacific side of nature, however, Nie tends to feature objects that could be deemed to be in conflict with natural life. These objects, when juxtaposed with certain elements, create a contrast that can seem unlikely and absurd.

Alternating between Shenzhen and Hong Kong every year, this creative festival seeks to present different aspects of life in Shenzhen and Hong Kong through art and design. With its scope constantly expanding, this year’s twin-city exhibition features products and works from a myriad of areas such as fashion design, digital innovation, handicrafts and more.
