Last year we learned that Shenzhen is getting five new subway lines by 2022, with plans to complete the world's longest metro system by 2030.

After revealing the plan for Line 12 last July, authorities are now ready to share Line 13. According to the blueprint, Shenzhen Bay Port will finally get subway service, connecting locations in Nanshan and Bao'an Districts across 22 km and 16 stations.

Line 13 will pass through existing stops Houhai (Line 2, 11), Keyuan (Line 2), Shenzhen University (Line 1), Liuxiandong (Line 5) and eight new interchanges to accommodate all the future lines.

According to Shenzhen Evening News, Line 13 will be completely underground and will bring locations like Nanshan's Hi-Tech Park closer to Xili Railway Station and remote areas of Shenzhen's north. Plus, the popular Shenzhen Bay-Hong Kong border crossing will finally get connected to the subway.

The other terminus will be located at Shangwu North near Bao'an's Shiyan Reservoir, and in the future may link up with Dongguan rail lines, according to Sina News.

Line 13 is expected to be up and running by the end of 2022.
