Fri, Jul 20: The Face at B10 Live
Ever wondered what a Chinese hair rock band might sound like? The Face, formed in 1989, comes pretty close with expansive rock anthems and judicious use of cowbell. A year after releasing their acclaimed first album Huo de Benneng (1995), the five-member group broke up and only reformed in 2006. Since then they've stayed close to their roots, lighting up the stage with old-school rock star glam.

Fri, Jul 20: Sinistarr at Oil Club
Drum 'n' bass event label Unchained has invited electronic and DJ producer Sinistarr to Shenzhen. The Detroit-based artist mixes a dance-floor sensibility with notes of footwork, techno and house, and has played festivals like South By Southwest and Berlin's Ohm. Supporting DJs include local talent from Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Sat, Jul 21: IVVVO at Oil Club
IVVVO, a Portuguese-born but London-based producer, will be bringing his riveting music to the stage at Oil Club. His work has been described as possessing a "decaying-sublimely-into-emptiness" energy, exploring the complexity of millennial emotions. Following his act are sets by DOKEDO, Kelvin T, and XHANKONKON.

Sun, Jul 22: Carl Barât
Carl Ashley Raphael Barât is a British musician hailing from Hampshire. With a presence in the industry of over 20 years, Barât has been frontman for several different acts, most notably The Libertines, which he formed with Peter Doherty in 1997. He has since incorporated his indie rock sound in a number of other projects including Dirty Pretty Things, The Chavs and, most recently, The Jackals – a group that Barât handpicked through a series of interviews and auditions done via Facebook.
