The Yangcheng Evening News is reporting that a fire broke out yesterday in a warehouse at Fangcun’s famous wholesale tea market in Guangzhou's Liwan District.

The blaze occurred mere hours prior to a bus bursting into flames in the city’s Haizhu District, marking the second major fire incident of the afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving word of the fire at 12.49pm and were able to extinguish the flames shortly thereafter.

Wood shingles on the structure’s roof were burned along with tealeaves that were being stored in the warehouse.

No deaths or injuries were reported, although plumes of dark (and presumably fragrant) smoke could be seen from the opposite bank of the Pearl River.
