Jan 25: Stand-up Comedy Night at Xpats Sports Club
See a range of comedic acts hailing from across the globe this Thursday at Xpats. The first 20 to sign up get two free drinks in addition to the welcome drink included in the ticket price. Jan 26: Colin Phils at B10 Live
Colin Phils, now based in Richmond, Virginia, offers complex instrumental music (guitar loops, synth lines, and intricate drumming) alongside densely harmonic vocals. Their sound has been described as part math-rock, part indie-rock, with catchy hooks and harmonies throughout. They're returning to Shenzhen after a popular 2016 tour, reuniting with bassist Jon Howland to bring their infectious tunes to an even wider audience.

Jan 26: Chinese Folk Singer Cheng Bi
A folk singer with a poet's heart, Cheng Bi first won widespread recognition for her hit song, 'I Want to While Away the Time with You.' The Beijing University graduate studied Japanese before embarking on her musical career, and her lyrics continue to be inspired by the works of modern poets of China, Japan and Turkey.

Jan 26: Belly Dance Party at The Terrace
You don't need any belly dance experience to join The Terrace's latest themed party, but the payoff can be big if you do: prizes go to the hottest belly dance as well as sexiest costume. There'll also be a show to get you in the shimmying mood.

Jan 27: Mercader at B10 Live
Soon after their debut in 2014, Mercader won a 'best new band' award in China for their daring post-rock persona. As of last year the Guangzhou-based band had toured over 50 cities in China, winning praise for electrifying performances. See them live in Shenzhen this weekend.

Jan 27: Euphoria at Oil Club
Euphoria, a series of events showcasing Europe's vibrant electronic sounds, has seen success in Beijing and Shanghai. Jan 27: Trap DJ Bailo at Club Sector
New York native Bailo made his name in the underground trap scene with a blend of original tracks and remixes, including 'Breaker' (above) and 'How Deep Is Your Love?' The artist releases music under the Barong Label, and has worked with the likes of Adventure Club, Riot Ten, HeroBust and Milk N Cookies.
