Banana Electronic Music Festival is back for its 2017 edition, which is being held this weekend, September 23, at the spectacular Dameisha Bay Yacht Club.
A yearly pilgrimage for EDM junkies in the Pearl River Delta, the concert boasts performances from a selection of hot DJs, as well as a dazzling light and sound show. There will also be booze, essential to any festival, at a reasonable price: four mixed drinks for RMB100.
Bottle service will also be available, as well as transportation from both Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
But first, let’s take a brief look at a few of the DJs that will be performing at this year’s Banana Electronic Music Festival:
DJs From Mars
In 2013, DJs From Mars were officially recognized as one of the most popular acts worldwide, getting their own spot in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list. Over the last six years they’ve toured non-stop in the USA, Canada, Brazil, China, India, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Indonesia and basically every European nation. With a tour schedule of at least 120 shows annually over the last five years, DJs From Mars are one of the most requested DJ acts worldwide.
Big Joe
A heavyweight in the local DJ scene, Big Joe boasts a huge number of music festival and nightclub appearances over the past several years. Besides hip-hop, Big Joe's music incorporates an array of electronic music elements, including trap, electro and festival styles. He is an active member of Beijing's fresh ‘Blaze Hip Hop Crew.’
JLFan
A trance producer and DJ, JLFan is one of the only DJs in the Middle Kingdom still packing commercial nightclubs with patrons eager for trance music. JLFan has previously performed alongside Ben Klock, Oliver Heldens and Fritz Kalkbrenner. He's also played on the main stage at the 2017 Great Wall Music Festival alongside famous names such as Emery and Giuseppe Ottaviani.
