The turkey: a noble bird in body, from its mighty claws to its stately snood. It's also delicious. That's rounded up the best places in Shenzhen to buy birds for the holidays. This Thanksgiving, gather family and friends to feast on a turkey's roasted corpse. Click on vendors' names to view their listing and contact info.


Nogogo

Nogogo is selling cooked, seasoned and breadcrumb-stuffed Norbest young turkey imported from the US. Nogogo can deliver the cooked turkey with 24 hours notice, or you can go to their Nanshan District warehouse to pick it up, though the usual 10 percent off for in-person pick ups won't apply. Nogogo sells frozen Chilean turkey, if you prefer to cook it yourself. You can also order through nogogo.cn.

The Butcher Shop

With an outlet at the Rose Garden and one in Sea World, the butcher shop is providing birds for RMB85 per kilogram and will cook them for an additional RMB200, adding some gravy and stuffing.

Olé

Olé is selling roasted turkeys and offering an RMB88 discount if the birds are ordered a week ahead of time. They are open to custom cooking instructions, although they couldn't confirm the origin of their fowls. Call 8629 8208 and ask for 'Bob' for English service.

The Kitchen - Futian

The Kitchen will actually provide a full meal set, including a turkey for RMB2,200, but will also deliver around Shenzhen for a fee. Their turkeys are on the pricy side, but include stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce.

Metro

This list wouldn't be complete without Metro, though you may want a Chinese speaker to call if you plan to have Metro cook the bird for you. There is an RMB200 cooking fee and Metro asks that you tell them one or two days ahead of time if you want it cooked. Otherwise, just head on in and grab one.
