Following the success of our That’s PRD Writing Contest this past summer, we’re happy to announce the addition of a new column in our monthly magazine dedicated to all aspiring authors: The Writer’s Block.
Located in the Community section, the column will feature short, fictional stories by you, our readers, crafted in response to a prompt given the previous month. All you have to do is write a 300-400-word story (have fun with it – we’re not looking for Pulitzer Prize-winning material!) and submit your work to us at firstname.lastname@example.org before the 20th of each month.
The prompt for our November issue (to be submitted by October 20) is as follows:
Your character has awoken on a train filled with strangers. In the distance, dangling between two pieces of luggage overhead, he or she glimpses a slip of paper bearing his or her name in an unfamiliar handwriting.
What happens next? That’s up to you. Email us before October 20 with your story for a chance to have it published in next month’s column. Good luck – we can’t wait to see what stories emerge from our talented PRD community!
Pro tip: Be sure to send your email to @urbanatomy and not '@urbananatomy.'
