On Sunday, at 6.10pm, Longgang police were called to a clothing store where a man was reportedly videotaping an undressed woman over the wall of a changing room.
The male, 31-year-old Chen Mouli, was apprehended by police in the Vanke outlet after customers blocked his attempts to leave.
According to local media reports, Chen was preparing to enter one of the changing rooms when he heard a woman’s voice and abruptly slipped into the cubicle next to her. Once inside, he popped his phone into video mode and held it through the small open crevice between the wall and the roof.
By the time authorities arrived, Chen had already deleted the video – as you do when you’re about to be caught being the biggest weirdo since Charlie Sheen.
Unfortunately for this Peeping Tom (and fortunately for basically everyone else), some fast-acting store patrons photographed his phone over the wall – damning evidence that has netted him five days of administrative detention for invasion of privacy.
