Exciting news this week for frequent Shenzhen Metro users – the Shenzhen Metro Group has released a new metro map including a number of upcoming lines.

The new map offers Shenzheners a visual preview of soon-to-be-opened lines 7, 9 and 11.

Line 7 will include 28 stations and 13 interchanges, running a 30-kilometer route from Lishui Road in Nanshan District to Taian Road in Xili. Passengers will be able to transfer to the Shekou Line at Antuoshan Station and to both Shekou and Luobao lines and Huaquangbei Station, according to Shenzhen Daily.

Line 9 will have 22 stations, 10 interchanges and run for 25 kilometers, covering Nanshan, Futian and Luohu districts. It will start at Hongshuwan in Nanshan and end in Wenjin in Luohu.

Metro Line 11, also known as the Airport Express, will take commuters from the Futian CBD to the Shenzhen Airport in a record-breaking 30 minutes – with no annoying transfers in between. The line, which will open in June, will comprise 18 stations and 10 interchanges – running an astounding 51.9 kilometers. Connected areas will include Chegongmiao, OCT Bay, Shenzhen Bay, Houhai, Nanshan, CBD and Qianhai.

Five of Line 11’s interchanges will be put into operation with the opening of lines 7 and 9 at the end of the year, according to the Shenzhen Daily report.
