WHAT is “Beaujolais Nouveau”?
In a few words, Beaujolais Nouveau is the first wine of the year released on the market.
Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked in France on the 3rd Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just a few weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the world and further afield to celebrate the first wine of the season.
So it means that the wine comes in express by plane to YOU.
Beaujolais is produced in France, south of Burgundy region.
The wine is very fruity, easy to drink and “reveals” some of the characteristics of the 2020 vintage.
