Though both born in the 1980s, Jing Huan and Chen Xi’s background as conductors reads like that of people with far more years behind them: Jing is the principal conductor of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra while Chen is the first prize winner of the 2002 International Tchaikovsky Competition. The works they’ll perform include Felix Mendelssohn’s ‘Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64’ and ‘Petrushka’ by Igor Stravinsky.
