Muzikbox has finished residency at For Times in Shekou and we are moving on to a fresh new location, featuring a 1990s Shenzhen pioneer for the first edition.

Taking place in Barbershop, a 1920s style speakeasy bar, there will be deep house & techno vibes, free facepainting, super nintendo, drink specials, and more.

Featuring Li Weimin, a true pioneer of electronic music in Shenzhen. After forming a band named Sunflower in 1992, he heard Ni Bing on Shenzhen Radio and then started DJing at Duke Bar in 1998. He went on to play a number of festivals, from Millenium to Techno Parade. In 2005 he started We Play, an experimental electro-acoustic group, and founded music label NSF in 2007. We met him at Ibiza Bar in 2008, a pillar of the early Shenzhen scene, and haven't seen him since, so let's welcome him back.
